The Charles Stewart Mott Foundation, established in Flint, Michigan U.S.A., in 1926, is a private, philanthropic organization that supports programs for charitable purposes.

In Central/Eastern Europe, the Mott Foundation has three current grantmaking objectives:

1. The Foundation seeks to develop appropriate legal frameworks and political and economic structures to ensure and sustain democracy and the market economy.
2. The Foundation seeks to help prevent conflicts in the region through training and technical assistance in alternative dispute resolution methods.
3. The Foundation seeks to strengthen the effectiveness of the nonprofit sector as a whole.

In all three objectives, the Foundation's principle aim is to build capacity and leadership within local communities and regions, and at the national level.
