For the last twenty-five years, the Limmat Foundation has been actively involved in philanthropic work throughout the industrialized and the developing worlds. On the occasion of our anniversary, we are organizing an International conference on Social enterprise (ICSE) as an opportunity to bring professionals and interested individuals together to explore this important topic. It is a pleasure to be able to invite you to this event.

Organizations involved in social and development activities are often grouped together under a "non" label (NGO, nonprofit organization). And yet they are primarily social enterprises, which should aim at achieving a profit: the improvement of the living conditions of those in need. The ICSE hopes not only to strengthen this enterpreneurial consciousness, but also to offer the possibility of measuring the often unquantifiable results of these social enterprises, so that we can ultimately improve upon their success.
