The 6th SEFI WGEE Seminar:

ENVIRONMENTAL ENGINEERING EDUCATION 2000
(16 - 18 April 1997, Prague, Czech Republic)

The SEFI-WGEE The European Society for Engineering Education was established in 1973 as a non-governmental international organisation with the aims

  • to promote information on engineering education
  • to improve communications and exchanges between teachers, researches and students
  • to develop co-operation between educational engineering institutions

The working group Environmental Engineering was established during the SEFI Annual Conference 1991 in Marseilles-France. The objectives of the SEFI WGEE are focused on

  • Stimulating the awareness on different European approaches
  • in environmental education
  • in technology transfer in university-industry co-operation
  • in East-West and North-South co-operation
  • The formation of a strong group from Universities and Industry to stimulate activities in the area of Environmental Engineering.

Topic

Environmental engineering education 2000 applying the latest developments of science and technology in EEE programmes.

Modern education of university students in environmental engineering as a typical multi-disciplinary and rapidly expanding branch must respond flexibly to new developments in science and technology. The aim of the Seminar, therefore, will be to identify the main trends in science and technology which might have a decisive impact on future development of environmental engineering education. The Seminar will also focus on sharing experiences and look for the best ways of incorporating these topics into environmental engineering educational programmes.

Call for papers

The scientific committee will invite speakers on specific topics from universities, industry, organisations and government. Participants who would like to present a paper at the conference should submit an abstract of no more than one A4 page by January 15, 1997. Authors will be notified of acceptance by end of February 1997.

Conference fee

The conference fee will be ECU 220,- (or the equivalent in any convertible currency), including proceedings and conference meals.
