The North American Association for Environmental Education (NAAEE) is accepting applications to the NAAEE International Environmental Education Course to be held in coopertaion with the Smithsonian Institution`s Conservation and Research Center in Front Royal, Virginia, USA, from 16 October to 11 November 1995.

The course is intended for people working for NGOs or government agencies in developing nations, interested in developing their environmental education programmes. The main focus will be on :

• What is EE and what role can it play in solving environmental problems;
• How to use social marketing to enhance an EE strategy;
• Choosing and designing effective communications tools;
• Creating and using EE activities;
• Monitoring and evaluating EE programmes;
• Fundraising for EE initiatives.
