        CEPA, member organization of the CEE Bankwatch Network (
        http://www.bankwatch.org ), is looking to hire a national
        coordinator (NC) for Bankwatch activities.

        Job description:

           * 1. monitoring the activities of international
             financial institutions (IFIs) e.g. World Bank,
             European Investment Bank, International Monetary
             Fund, etc.;

           * 2. investigating selected projects that receive
             funding from IFIs and ensuring proper public
             participation and environmental and social standards;

           * 3. working with the media to increase awareness of
             IFI activity;

           * 4. communicating with IFIs on policy and project
             related issues;

           * 5. coordinating national and international campaigns
             within CEPA and among NGOs in Slovakia;

           * 6. communicating and reporting to the international
             network on activities; and

           * 7. conducting research and analysis on issues related
             to economic globalization.

        The national coordinator position is FULL-TIME, starting
        at September 1, 2001, and is located at the CEPA office in
        Ponicka Huta.

        The NC can expect the following time schedule:

           * attending international conferences and strategy
             meetings (about 4 a year);
           * travel within the country or border countries (once a
             month);
           * national case work (30%);
           * research (30%);
           * international communication and networking (20%);
           * eporting (10%);
           * other (10%).

        The NC does not need to be an expert on multi-lateral
        development banks or globalization, but should have an
        interest learning more about these issues and a general
        understanding of development strategies. The NC must have
        a workable knowledge of english, computer and Internet
        literacy, and good communication skills.
