THE AIM OF CIVIL ASSOCIATION The foundation for saving energy and protection of environment in municipalities had been working since 1995. It changed to civil association ECOENERGY in 1997. ECOENERGY is a non-profit, voluntary, and public- interest organization operating throughout Slovakia. The aim of the association is:

The association: prepares analyzes realizes valuates performs communicates projects of energy efficiency and the use of restorable sources of energies. Concrete projects of energy efficiency and projects using restorable sources of energy bring important improvements in the environment. That method of using restorable sources of energy is distinguished in Slovakia and strengthen the family economy, municipal and regional economy.
Citizens are active in solving concrete problems and this fact help to develop ecological ideas and new results, brings strong feelings of self-realization, freedom and responsibility. Our interest:
For the future members of association want to continue in their efforts in forming the ideas of sustainable development of society.

Improving the energy efficiency of the town 1993-98. Training for mayors and energy firm owners 1995 Education program for 900 children 1995-96 Cooperation with DTI Denmark, Ministry of Environment, and Slovak Energy Inspection – Energy Agency, 1996 Restoration of boiler system, heating water, public lighting in cooperation with DTI, 1995-96 Created a systém for the preparation of fuel from wood, and the reconstruction of boilers for 187 flats, a kindergarten, and a school, 1995-98 Education on schools, 1500 children, 1996-98 Seminars, reconstruction of public lights ecological education for schools, ECOS/OUVERTURE and PHARE, 1997-98 Management of energy consulting and education of inhabitants, Network Twinning, PHARE, 1997-98 ENERGY FOR CONSTANTLY SUSTAINABLE LIFE
