OBJECTIVES:
To achieve its objectives, APOP cooperates with industrial enterprises, autonomous bodies, governmental agencies, and other organizations. However, the association is not dependent on any of these subjects. The main goal and the general principle of APOP is to create the harmonious balance between the requirements of environment preservation and the industrial activities. Furthermore, APOP searches the new ways of land and industry development that respects the natural principles. This is supposed to be achieved rather by dialogue than confrontation. The APOPs principles:
The industry and environment may appear as two antagonious subjects. However, they have the common base: land, nature, and their use. It is a fact, that the industry has a significant negative impact to the environment. Therefore, the industry should take its portion of responsibility for debts accumulated by society. The intensive activities and cooperation with APOP is one of the possible steps on the new route toward the active preservation and creation of environment. It is a very complicated process and its results will be evident in the future. In order to become a society developed from various aspects, the current industrial society has to take personal responsibility for solving of the problem. The elementary point in this process is the change of individuals life style; thus, the life style and culture of the whole society. The APOPs member may be any corporate body which complies with APOPs objectives and principles and it is ready to participate in their achievement.
Through the realization of various ecological and technical interventions in the lake, we have achieved a significant increase in the quality of water by 1-2 levels. We have increased the biological and aesthetical level of the whole environment around the lake.
The construction "The irrigation of Biskupicke rameno" generally improves the environment right in the channel and in Kop Island area as well. After 30 years, the water flows into the Danube channel, it is held there, and it overflows during all seasons. Moreover, there is a possibility to optimally regulate the fluctuation of the channels sufrace.
Encyclopaedic path "Biskupicke luzne lesy" (Lye Woods of Biskupice) offers to visitors the one of the most valuable locations in Bratislava. There are 6 locations that are declared the preserved areas and 3 of them are natural reservations.
We intensively work on the optimal structure in the environment. This is being achieved by systematic surface and line planting. Moreover, this process actively supports the preservation and further development of the generic diversity of fauna and flora in their natural environment. The very important factor of this process is also the protection of the earth from the eolian erosion.
The treatment of the current green areas, planting the new trees and bushes, sowing the new lawns are the main elements in the healing intervention and revitalization of this preserved natural reservation. In order to achieve the salvage and reproduction of Podhradie, it is necessary to create a symbiosis of the ecological requirements and the urbanistic proposals. |
